Abanindranath Tagore

Abanindranath Tagore was a leading figure in the Bengal School of Art, helping shape a distinctly Indian modern painting through the synthesis of Mughal, Japanese, and European influences. His paintings often drew on historical and literary themes, while his accomplished writing extended his influence beyond visual art. He was also associated with the revival of Indian painting during the early twentieth century.
