Abdul Karim Khan

Abdul Karim Khan was an Indian Hindustani classical vocalist who, with Abdul Wahid Khan, helped establish the modern Kirana gharana. Born in 1872, he trained in a musical family, performed widely across India, and later settled in Miraj, where he taught and developed a major vocal tradition. His style emphasized careful attention to pitch, leisurely melodic elaboration, and expressive singing, influencing generations of North Indian classical musicians.
