Alexander Blok

Alexander Blok was a leading Russian Symbolist poet whose work reshaped lyric poetry through musical rhythms, vivid imagery, and spiritual symbolism. His major works include *Verses About the Beautiful Lady*, *The Twelve*, and *The Scythians*, which engage with love, Russia’s destiny, and the upheavals of the 1917 Revolution. Blok remains especially associated with *The Twelve*, an enigmatic poem that captures the violence and uncertainty of revolutionary Russia.
