Alexey Pajitnov

Alexey Pajitnov is a Russian-American computer engineer and video game designer best known for creating Tetris in 1984 while working at the Soviet Academy of Sciences. Inspired by the puzzle game pentominoes, he designed a digital challenge in which falling geometric pieces are arranged to complete lines. After moving to the United States, he worked at Microsoft and later helped establish The Tetris Company with Henk Rogers.
