Ali Abdel Raziq

Ali Abdel Raziq was an Egyptian Islamic scholar, judge, and minister whose writings challenged the assumption that Islamic governance required a caliphate or explicitly religious state. His 1925 work, *Islam and the Foundations of Political Power*, became a major intervention in modern debates over Islam, political authority, and secularism.
