Anita Augspurg

Anita Augspurg was a pioneering German jurist who also worked as an actress, photographer, writer, and editor before becoming a leading advocate of women’s suffrage and legal equality. She helped build the radical women’s movement, campaigned against discriminatory marriage law, and promoted international pacifism through the women’s peace movement. After the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, Augspurg went into exile in Zurich, where she died in 1943.
