Anne Knight

Anne Knight (1786–1862) was a British Quaker, abolitionist, and pioneering advocate of women’s rights. Her anti-slavery activism shaped her feminism, especially after women were excluded from speaking at the 1840 World Anti-Slavery Convention. In 1847 she published an early women’s-suffrage leaflet and helped establish Sheffield’s first organization dedicated to securing votes for women in 1851.
