Anyango

Anyango is the stage name of Tokyo-born Japanese musician Eriko Mukoyama, whose work centers on the nyatiti, the traditional lyre of Kenya’s Luo people. After training in a remote Kenyan village, she became recognized as the world’s first female nyatiti performer and has developed a distinctive musical dialogue between Kenyan traditions and Japanese forms such as soran-bushi. She has released albums including *Nyatiti Diva*, *HORIZON*, and *KANKI*, while performing internationally and promoting Japan–Kenya cultural exchange.
