Arthur Boyd

Arthur Boyd was an Australian painter, potter and printmaker whose expressive art drew on biblical stories, mythology and the Australian landscape. After serving in the Army’s Cartographic Unit during World War II, he developed major series addressing war, identity and the treatment of Aboriginal people. He later lived and worked in England before returning to Australia, where he settled at Bundanon, which he and his wife gifted to the Australian people in 1993.
