Arthur Ernest Bishop

Arthur Ernest Bishop was an Australian mechanical engineer and inventor whose work shaped aircraft landing-gear systems and automobile steering technology. During and after World War II, he developed innovations for controlling aircraft-wheel instability and later advanced variable-ratio hydraulic and rack-and-pinion steering. His inventions were widely adopted in automotive engineering, and he was credited with holding more than 300 patents across 17 countries.
