Big Daddy Kane

Big Daddy Kane, born Antonio Hardy in Brooklyn, is an American rapper and songwriter who emerged from Marley Marl’s Juice Crew during hip-hop’s late-1980s golden age. His influential early releases included the single “Raw” and the albums *Long Live the Kane* (1988) and *It’s a Big Daddy Thing* (1989), which established his reputation for technical lyricism and commanding delivery. Kane also won a Grammy Award for his performance on Quincy Jones’s “Back on the Block.”
