Brian Haw

Brian Haw was a British peace campaigner best known for maintaining a protest camp in London’s Parliament Square from 2001 until illness ended his vigil. His persistent demonstrations against British and American foreign policy made him a prominent symbol of anti-war protest and prompted wider debates about free expression and the right to protest. Haw died in Berlin in 2011 while receiving treatment for lung cancer.
