Caetano Veloso

Caetano Veloso is a Brazilian composer, singer, guitarist, writer, and political activist whose career emerged from the Tropicália movement of the late 1960s. His music combines Brazilian popular traditions with rock, bossa nova, samba, and other influences, while his lyrics are known for their literary and cultural breadth. After imprisonment under Brazil’s military dictatorship, he lived in political exile in London, where he continued composing and recording.
