Carmen Herrera

Carmen Herrera was a Cuban-born American painter and sculptor known for spare, geometric abstractions built from sharply defined forms and limited color. After studying in Havana and Paris, she developed her signature style during years in Paris and later made New York her base. Although she worked for decades with little public attention, her art gained wide recognition late in life and entered major museum collections.
