Charles Gore

Charles Gore was an influential Anglican theologian and bishop who served successively in Worcester, Birmingham, and Oxford. He helped bridge Anglo-Catholic theology with aspects of biblical criticism and modern scientific thought, while maintaining a Catholic understanding of Anglican faith and sacraments. He also founded the Community of the Resurrection and supported Christian social action through the Christian Social Union.
