Cyril Lucaris

Cyril Lucaris was a Greek prelate and theologian who served as Patriarch of Alexandria before becoming Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. He promoted education and maintained wide scholarly correspondence, including presenting the Codex Alexandrinus to King James I of England. His name became associated with a Calvinist confession published in 1629, though historians and church authorities have disputed whether he actually authored it.
