David Halberstam

David Halberstam was an American journalist, historian, and author whose reporting helped challenge official accounts of the Vietnam War. His work for The New York Times earned the 1964 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting, and his books—including *The Best and the Brightest* and *The Powers That Be*—examined American politics, institutions, and power. He later wrote influential histories and narrative works on civil rights, sports, media, and the Korean War.
