Dorothy Round

Dorothy Round was a British tennis champion who won Wimbledon women’s singles titles in 1934 and 1937, and became the first overseas player to win the Australian Championships in 1935. A committed Methodist, she notably refused to play tennis on Sundays, even when that limited her tournament opportunities. After marrying Douglas Leigh Little in 1937, she continued teaching, coaching, and contributing to tennis beyond her competitive career.
