Emil Brunner

Emil Brunner was a Swiss Reformed theologian and a major voice in twentieth-century Protestant theology. He taught systematic and practical theology at the University of Zurich from 1924 to 1953 and later served at the International Christian University in Tokyo. Associated early with dialectical theology, Brunner developed a distinctive emphasis on revelation, Christian ethics, and the relational character of human personhood; his major works include *The Theology of Crisis* and the three-volume *Dogmatics*.
