Eminem

Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, rose from Detroit’s underground rap scene to international prominence through his rapid-fire delivery, provocative storytelling, and the alter ego Slim Shady. His major works include *The Slim Shady LP*, *The Marshall Mathers LP*, and the Academy Award-winning song “Lose Yourself,” which he wrote for the film *8 Mile*, in which he also starred. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Eminem helped broaden hip-hop’s mainstream reach while maintaining a distinctly confrontational lyrical style.
