Enrique Dussel

Enrique Dussel was an Argentine-born, Mexican-naturalized philosopher whose work in ethics, political philosophy, and Latin American thought helped establish the philosophy of liberation. After going into exile in Mexico in 1975, he taught at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Metropolitan Autonomous University. His writings challenged Eurocentric accounts of modernity and developed the idea of transmodernity as an alternative horizon for philosophical and political thought.
