Ferenc Puskás

Ferenc Puskás was a Hungarian association football forward whose prolific scoring made him a central figure in both Hungary’s great postwar national team and Real Madrid’s golden era. After starring for Budapest Honvéd, he joined Real Madrid in 1958 and scored 242 goals in 262 appearances, helping the club win three European Cups and five Spanish league titles. His enduring influence is reflected in FIFA’s Puskás Award for the year’s best goal.
