Frantz Fanon

Frantz Fanon was a Martinique-born psychiatrist, philosopher, and writer whose work examined the psychological effects of colonialism and racism. His major books, including *Black Skin, White Masks* (1952) and *The Wretched of the Earth* (1961), became foundational texts in anti-colonial and postcolonial thought. Fanon also practiced psychiatry in France and Algeria and participated in the Algerian liberation struggle.
