G. Stanley Hall

G. Stanley Hall was a pioneering American psychologist and educator who helped establish psychology as an organized academic discipline in the United States. He advanced the study of childhood and adolescence, founded the journal *Pedagogical Seminary*, and organized an early child-study society. His two-volume *Adolescence* (1904) helped make adolescent development a major subject of psychological and educational research.
