George Monro Grant

George Monro Grant was a Canadian Presbyterian minister, writer, and educator who served as principal of Queen’s College in Kingston from 1877 to 1902. He helped transform the financially struggling institution into a growing national university, expanding its academic programs and graduate studies. Grant also wrote Ocean to Ocean, an account of his 1872 journey across Canada with the Canadian Pacific Railway survey, and spoke publicly on religion, education, Canadian nationalism, and imperial relations.
