Gordon Moore

Gordon Moore was an American businessman and semiconductor pioneer who co-founded Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957 and Intel Corporation with Robert Noyce in 1968. He later led Intel as president, chief executive officer, and chairman, while his 1965 projection about the pace of chip development became known as Moore’s Law. With his wife, Betty, he established the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in 2000 to support science, environmental conservation, patient care, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
