Henri Nouwen

Henri Nouwen was a Dutch Catholic priest, professor, psychologist, and prolific spiritual writer whose books explored prayer, ministry, community, and the experience of being loved by God. He taught at Notre Dame, Yale, and Harvard before leaving academia in 1986 to serve at L’Arche Daybreak, a community for people with intellectual disabilities in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Works such as *The Wounded Healer*, *Reaching Out*, and *The Return of the Prodigal Son* made his candid, pastoral spirituality widely influential.
