Hubertine Auclert

Hubertine Auclert was a pioneering French feminist who helped establish women’s suffrage as a central political cause in France. She founded and led organizations devoted to women’s voting rights, campaigned publicly against women’s exclusion from elections, and used journalism and direct protest to challenge legal and political inequality. Her work helped shape the early French suffrage movement and anticipated later global feminist arguments about citizenship.
