Igor Severyanin

Igor Severyanin, the pen name of Igor Vasilyevich Lotaryov, was a Russian poet associated with Ego-Futurism and the literary culture of Russia’s Silver Age. His 1913 collection *The Thundering Cup* brought him wide recognition, while his flamboyant “poetry concerts” helped make him one of the era’s most popular performers. After 1918, he lived in Estonia, where he continued writing and translating until his death in Tallinn in 1941.
