Jennifer Doudna

Jennifer Doudna is an American biochemist whose research on RNA helped establish CRISPR-Cas9 as a precise tool for genome editing. A professor at the University of California, Berkeley, she shared the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Emmanuelle Charpentier for developing this method. Doudna also founded the Innovative Genomics Institute and has contributed to public discussions about the responsible use of gene-editing technology.
