Joachim Ringelnatz

Joachim Ringelnatz, born Hans Bötticher, was a German poet, cabaret performer, and painter whose maritime experiences shaped much of his creative work. He became widely known during the Weimar era for comic and often unconventional poems, especially those featuring the sailor Kuttel Daddeldu, while also pursuing a substantial career in visual art. His public performances were prohibited by the Nazi regime in 1933, and he died in Berlin in 1934.
