About John Keble

John Keble was an Anglican priest and poet whose devotional collection *The Christian Year* (1827) became his best-known literary work. His 1833 sermon “National Apostasy” helped launch the Oxford Movement, which sought to renew the Church of England’s connection with older Catholic traditions. Keble later served as rector of Hursley and was commemorated by the founding of Keble College, Oxford.
