Ken Loach

Ken Loach is an English filmmaker whose socially conscious dramas focus on working-class lives and the effects of poverty, political power, and institutional neglect. His influential television work includes *Cathy Come Home* (1966), while *Kes* (1969) established his distinctive naturalistic style. Later films such as *The Wind That Shakes the Barley* and *I, Daniel Blake* continued his long engagement with political and social injustice.
