Kim Young-sam

Kim Young-sam was a South Korean democratic activist and politician who served as the country’s president from 1993 to 1998. As South Korea’s first civilian president in three decades, he pursued political and institutional reforms after years of military rule. His administration also confronted the 1997–1998 Asian financial crisis, which led South Korea to accept an International Monetary Fund bailout.
