Konstantin Balmont

Konstantin Balmont (1867–1942) was a Russian Symbolist poet and translator who was prominent during the movement’s early years. Known for his musical verse and rich metrical forms, he also made important contributions as a translator, particularly of Edgar Allan Poe, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Walt Whitman. His reputation later declined with the emergence of new literary movements.
