Lucian Freud

Lucian Freud was a British painter and draughtsman, born in Berlin in 1922 and later based in Britain. A leading figure of postwar British figurative art, he became known for intensely observed portraits, nudes, and scenes centered on the human body. He also produced etchings, often exploring subjects related to his paintings through an independent printmaking process.
