About Lygia Clark
Lygia Clark was a Brazilian artist whose practice moved from geometric abstraction toward participatory works that made the viewer’s bodily experience central. As a signatory of the 1959 Neo-Concrete Manifesto, she developed interactive sculptures such as the Bichos and later created sensory propositions, including Caminhando, that challenged the separation between artwork, artist, and spectator. In her later practice, she explored relational objects and therapeutic experiences, extending her investigation of art into the realms of perception, embodiment, and collective action.
