Manas Buthelezi

Manas Buthelezi (1935–2016) was a South African Lutheran bishop, theologian, and prominent voice in Black liberation theology. He opposed apartheid through church leadership, scholarship, and public activism, including work with the South African Council of Churches and the Black Parents Association after the 1976 Soweto uprising. His theological writing connected Christian ministry with human liberation and the struggle for racial justice.
