Marina Abramović

Marina Abramović is a Serbian conceptual and performance artist whose work uses the body, endurance, and extended duration to examine presence, vulnerability, and human encounter. Her long collaboration with the artist Ulay, from 1975 to 1988, produced influential performances centered on duality and connection. In 2007, she founded the Marina Abramović Institute, a nonprofit organization devoted to long-duration performance and interdisciplinary collaboration.
