Mario O'Hara

Mario O’Hara was a Filipino film director and screenwriter whose work brought stark realism and social concern to Philippine cinema. He began in radio before joining the Philippine Educational Theater Association, where he met longtime collaborator Lino Brocka. O’Hara wrote screenplays for Brocka’s *Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang* and *Insiang*, and directed films including *Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos* and *Babae sa Breakwater*. He also worked as an actor and writer across film, theater, and television.
