Mary Wollstonecraft

Mary Wollstonecraft was an English writer, educator, and moral and political philosopher whose work challenged the social and educational restrictions imposed on women. Her best-known book, *A Vindication of the Rights of Woman* (1792), argued that women’s apparent inferiority was largely produced by unequal education rather than nature. She also wrote novels, political pamphlets, literary criticism, translations, and travel writing, making her influence broader than her foundational role in feminist thought.
