Maurice Lévy

Maurice Lévy was a French engineer and mechanics scholar whose career bridged public works, teaching, and mathematical research. After training at the École Polytechnique and the École des Ponts et Chaussées, he worked in the Seine navigation service and later taught applied mechanics at the École Centrale and analytical and celestial mechanics at the Collège de France. Elected to the Académie des Sciences in 1883, he contributed notably to engineering mechanics and structural analysis.
