Milton Berle

Milton Berle was an American comedian and actor whose career moved from silent film and vaudeville through radio, motion pictures, and television. As host of NBC’s Texaco Star Theater, he became one of the first major stars of American television and earned the nicknames “Mr. Television” and “Uncle Miltie.” His long career is documented in the Library of Congress collection of his papers, which includes comedic writings, scripts, correspondence, and business records.
