About Moshe Novomeysky
Moshe Novomeysky was a Siberian-born mining engineer and entrepreneur who pioneered the industrial study and extraction of salts from Lake Baikal before turning his attention to the Dead Sea. After settling in Palestine in 1920, he secured a concession and founded the Palestine Potash Company, laying the foundation for the region’s modern potash and bromine industry. His work helped transform Dead Sea minerals from a geological curiosity into an important basis for chemical and industrial development in Israel.
