Ngô Thì Nhậm

Ngô Thì Nhậm (1746–1803) was a Vietnamese scholar, writer, and official active during the Later Lê and Tây Sơn periods. His writings included historical and regional studies such as Hải Đông chí lược, while his later Buddhist work—undertaken under the religious name Hải Lượng—contributed to the revival of the Trúc Lâm Zen tradition. He also served the Tây Sơn court in political, military, and diplomatic roles, including during the resistance against Qing forces.
