Paisius Velichkovsky

Paisius Velichkovsky was an Eastern Orthodox monk and theologian whose work helped renew monastic spirituality across the Slavic Orthodox world. He translated selected Greek patristic writings, including the Philokalia, into Church Slavonic, making influential teachings on prayer and spiritual guidance more accessible. His disciples carried these traditions into Russia and Romania, strengthening the practice of spiritual eldership.
