Platon Levshin

Platon Levshin, also known as Metropolitan Platon of Moscow, was a prominent Russian Orthodox hierarch, preacher, theologian, and educator. He served as metropolitan of Moscow and authored influential catechisms and an early systematic history of the Russian Church. He was also noted for a comparatively tolerant policy toward Old Believers, helping formalize the Edinoverie arrangement that allowed some communities to retain traditional rites.
