Pridi Banomyong

Pridi Banomyong was a Thai lawyer, political thinker, and civilian leader of the 1932 revolution that ended absolute monarchy and established constitutional government. He helped found the People’s Party, served as regent during World War II, and directed the Free Thai resistance to Japanese occupation. Pridi became prime minister in 1946 and later lived in exile after a 1947 coup.
