Rodney Croome

Rodney Croome is an Australian academic and LGBTQI+ human-rights activist whose advocacy helped lead Tasmania’s campaign to decriminalise homosexuality. He later became a founder and national director of Australian Marriage Equality, campaigning for relationship recognition, anti-discrimination protections and marriage equality across Australia. Croome was named Tasmanian Australian of the Year in 2015 and received an honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of Tasmania in 2019.
