Roy Rene

Roy Rene was an Australian comedian, vaudeville performer, singer, and radio entertainer best known for his character Mo. His partnership with Nat Phillips as “Stiffy and Mo” became one of the defining acts of Australian vaudeville, and he later extended his popularity through revue, film, and radio. Born Henry van der Sluys, Rene developed a distinctive larrikin comic style that made him one of Australia’s most prominent entertainers of the early twentieth century.
